The Howz Assessment Report
Trusted insight to support social care teams
The Howz Assessment Report helps social care teams make faster, evidence-based decisions by turning Howz’s pattern of life analysis into clear written summaries. It gives professionals a fast, easy to read baseline they can enhance with their own knowledge and insight.

How it works
The Assessment Report is generated at the end of a Howz assessment pathway. During the short term care assessment, which can last between two and eight weeks, the system records daily routines, including when someone is sleeping, moving about, or using the bathroom or kitchen.
At the end of that period the report creates written sections covering sleep, movement, nutrition and bathroom use. It can be generated at the click of a button, with customised sections based on the areas of focus for that assessment.

The questions it answers
What is their current routine?
Has their routine changed over time?
Should I be concerned about night-time activity?
Are they visiting the bathroom regularly?
What is the routine for nutritional activity?
Is the home warm enough?
Built with deep academic rigour
Howz’s monitoring is underpinned by proprietary machine learning models developed with academic input from Lancaster University. These models are peer reviewed, published in the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society and have been clinically tested with NHS partners.
This scientific foundation means Howz can accurately identify daily patterns and flag meaningful changes in behaviour. The Assessment Report builds on it, translating those verified insights into plain English summaries that are quick for professionals to read and use.

Why it matters
The Howz Assessment Report supports short term assessments such as reablement, initial assessments, reassessments and complex care reviews. It saves hours of manual work, helps teams spot risks and changes sooner, and creates a consistent way to understand sensor data.
It is designed for the people who most need timely support, including those waiting for assessment, people leaving hospital, individuals living with dementia or frailty, and those with learning disabilities.
This is part of Howz’s wider commitment to using AI responsibly, supporting the professionals who deliver care, not replacing them.
